Clearing Up Vendor Confusion

October 21, 2015

Vendor confusion can be very intimidating especially the trade show onslaught of possibilities. Let's take this past Bridal Show for example. While it might appear that many vendors were competing for the eye of the potential client that is not how I view a show.

As an Event Manager it is my job to scope out all the amazing local vendors and then pair you up with those that will support your vision for your event. I don't view other vendors as competition because each one provides strengths in areas that others don't and we all complement each other when we work together.

Photography is a great example. We are so privileged to have a great variety of amazing photographers to choose from in our city.  Each has a unique style and personality. Meet with them and make sure that you "click" as you will be spending a good portion of your wedding day with them.  I have had the chance to meet and work with quite a few established as well as up and coming talents.  Check out Pictured by Petara, Schae Photography, Cristal King Photography, Elegant Exposures and Rachel Renner Photography just to mention a few.

Planning should be a lot of fun.  You have the chance to make everything flow based on your theme for the day and you can really create "a ha" moments for your guests as they see your theme develop in all aspects of your day.  From your invites to your place settings we can create a theme that flows through all the details of your event, which is why I enjoy working with Unite Co. Designs as it begins with your invitation design.

Remember it is important that you meet with your potential vendors to make sure that they are hearing your hearts desire and that you will be able to form a supportive relationship with one another. A vendors job is to provide you with a service that eliminates the potential for unnecessary stress. Don't be afraid to meet with a few and really determine who will be wonderful to work with.

Have fun planning your event!
