Big Hands!

Big Hands!
July 19, 2017

My dad has BIG hands!

Those hands have built homes, baby cradles, and intricate miniature duplications of heavy duty machinery down to the wooden gear shifts. I was never afraid of those big hands but I did have a healthy respect for the pain they could inflict if I was disobedient.

when 50 slaps you across the face
June 16, 2017

It's inevitable for all of us but it still feels like it wound up good and hard, and slapped me across the face!  Having reached a new decade makes one look back and forward only to realize that I had better start really enjoying each season because they seem to be coming at an alarmingly quick rate.

Magic in the Madness

December 08, 2015

It was perfectly decorated with all my cherished handmade decorations lovingly created by my children, oddities collected over the years, a bit of tacky ribbon, it was "perfect".  The problem was it needed to move back just a few inches into the corner.  No problem, I am determined and skilled.  Just get belly down on the ground, push from the base and "wa-la".

Enter my daughter who took photos instead of coming to my aid, of course.  Tree perfectly positioned down my back, it's these moments of madness that can either become magic, or mayhem.  It always comes down to choice.  When the giggling subsided and the tree was removed I was left with a ridiculous and funny moment with my daughter, and the world once she posted the picture.  Thank you social media for keeping me ever so humble.

It's a choice.  I can create magic in the moments that are stressful by making a choice.  There is always a choice.  Here's to choosing joy and creating some magic in the  madness.  Merry Christmas!
