The Little Pump Organ That Could

August 04, 2015

Have you ever felt like you have lost your purpose, decided you were worn out and weathered, been set aside for something newer and more trendy? Meet this poor old pump organ.  Discarded behind a building, covered in forest debris, swollen from standing out in the weather, no longer having purpose.

Some introspection and I realized I was looking at a visual of where I felt I was personally and decided it was time for a change.  Repurposing the old pump organ became my inspiration to make some changes for myself.  The same loved ones that helped me haul this no longer useful item out from behind the building, also helped me to see that it was time for me to "haul" myself out of where I was and go after what would inspire me to reach my full potential.  Beginning a career dedicated to event planning took the best part of my previous career and allowed me to explore the talents that I had.  It's so fulfilling to be able to use your gifting to help others.

It's a work in progress, that old pump organ, but really what in life isn't?  I am sanding, filling, envisioning and soon will have a delightful display piece ready to be useful once again.

Hmmm, what little nugget of truth is in this for me to ponder?  We have never outlived our usefulness, repurposing is simply taking the best of what has already been there and giving it new destiny, am I swollen and covered in forest debris?  Ha, ha.  So many deep questions.  Now back to my sanding.....
