Pinned to death

September 27, 2015

I was married in the 80's.  My dress was fluffy, my hair was fluffy and my trend setting decor was balloons and paper bells. Despite the poor decorations I managed to enjoy a great 27 year old marriage after having planned my wedding day without the aid of Pinterest.

Now don't get me wrong, I love Pinterest!  But as with all social media, I have a love/hate relationship with it.  Nothing gets the creative juices flowing like a good cup of coffee and pinning other people's pins.  I have pinned so many recipes, decorating ideas, humorous pictures, and DIY's that I am running out of new "board" ideas.

My bit of advice to anyone planning an event or wedding is that as soon as you feel that "how will I ever fit all these wonderful ideas into my day", STOP PINNING.  You will begin to feel like you are being pinned to death.  And the truth is that not one guest at your event will think "I saw your board on Pinterest and you are definitely missing pin #52".  They will however, love whatever you have incorporated that reflects you.

So that being said, if you like my post please "pin" it.  JK
